We started Divine Mercy Care Homes because we believed seniors deserved a real home in their later years — not a wing, not a unit, not a room number. Here’s who we are and how we work.

Divine Mercy Care Homes operates small, licensed residential care homes in Southwest Bakersfield. Each home is licensed for six residents — a size chosen on purpose. It lets our caregivers give the kind of hands-on, personal attention that isn’t possible in a facility with dozens or hundreds of residents.

Our name reflects how we approach the work: with patience, compassion, and the belief that every resident, regardless of how much help they need, deserves to be treated with dignity.

Our owners and managers visit each home regularly. They know the residents, and the residents know them. When they stop by, they sit with residents, share a laugh, and take a photo to send along to family.

How many residents live in each home?
Each Divine Mercy Care Home is licensed for six residents, allowing for a higher level of individualized attention than larger senior living communities.
Nearly everything: meals, laundry, housekeeping, bedding, towels, and basic personal hygiene products. The main items outside your monthly rate are costs covered by medical insurance and resident-specific needs like incontinence supplies and personal clothing.
Your price is locked in based on the assessment completed before move-in and does not increase as care needs change. If a resident’s needs become medical in nature, their primary care provider may recommend hospice care, typically covered separately by insurance.
Medications are securely stored on-site, and trained caregivers make sure each resident takes their medications as prescribed by their physician.
